Description of Prospects of Regional Economic Cooperation in South Asia

This book is aimed at researchers and students of graduate and post-graduate level, who are in the field of economics, international trade and regional economic integration. The book is written in the backdrop of sluggish progress of multilateral trade negotiations under the framework of the World Trade Organization (WTO) regime which has provided impetus to the signing of regional/bilateral trade agreements the world over. This book examines the prospects of regional economic cooperation in the South Asia region and presents analysis into some of the key Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) using various approaches. The book also includes some special studies on the Indian industries, such as textiles and clothing, and pharmaceuticals with a focus on trade.
